Great Value Premier Cru White Burgundy for $19.99

2008 Jean-Marc Boillot Montagny Premier Cru
$1 per Bottle Shipping on Six, Free Shipping on Case

Some of the best values in white Burgundy these days are those coming from the Cote Chalonnaise region, located just south and west of Cote de Beaune appellations of St Aubin, Chassagne Montrachet, and Puligny Montrachet.

We’ve got one of those values from the Cote Chalonnaise region from Jean-Marc Boillot, a favorite producer of ours. The wine we are talking about is the 2008 Jean-Marc Boillot Montagny Premier Cru.

This Premier Cru Montagny nearly has the feel of Chassagne Montrachet with it’s richness, but finishes with the stony minerality and lemony citrus character that you generally find in Montagny. Montagny is often called the “Chablis of the South” for this reason.

The 2008 Jean-Marc Boillot Montagny Premier Cru is a bargain for a Premier Cru white at a price of just 19.99 per bottle, with $1 per bottle shipping on six and Free Shipping on a Case!

Jon Visser Wine Buyer 4 stars

"Ripe tropical fruit falvors on the nose. On the palate there is plenty of richness from the malolactic fermentation. The fruit though is more of a lemony-citrus with stony minerality. A tremendous value for a premier cru white Burgundy at 19.99!"

Great Value Sauvignon Blanc From Chile

2010 Casa Julia Sauvignon Blanc
$1 per Bottle Shipping on 6, Free Shipping on Case

The search for a quality Sauvignon Blanc under $10 is always a difficult task. For this reason we recently picked out a number of inexpensive Sauvignon Blancs from around the world to taste in hopes of finding a few quality ones.

What we discovered, which is no surprise, was that the best values seemed to be from Chile and New Zealand. Most of the New Zealand wines fell in the $10-15 range though. The Chileans were very reasonably priced below the $10 mark. The best of the group was the 2010 Casa Julia Sauvignon Blanc.

The 2010 Casa Julia Sauvignon Blanc displayed ripe honeydew melon and pear with a very soft and supple finish. It was just a perfect summer white wine, a fruit driven styled Sauvignon Blanc with a smooth finish. Josh Raynolds of the International Wine Cellar agreed with us, rating it 88 points!

Very well made Sauvignon Blanc for a bargain price at $7.99 per bottle, with $1 per bottle shipping on six and Free Shipping on a Case!

Josh Raynolds International Wine Cellar 88 Points-- Pale straw. Fresh pear, melon and quinine on the nose. Dry and nervy on entry, then fleshier in the middle, displaying chewy orchard fruit flavors and a sweet melon nuance. Nicely plump but focused, with good closing breadth and sappiness.

The Critics Are All Raving About This Washington Syrah

2007 Rasa QED Syrah Walla Walla
Free Shipping on Three or More, PLUS $36 off Coupon on Six!

Everyone has heard of the world class Syrahs from Cayuse in Walla Walla Valley, Washington, who came onto the scene in 1998. Their first reviews from the Wine Spectator and the Wine Advocate were 93 and 87 respectively. Today, everything seems to be 95-98 points.

Now, the new and hot winery on the scene in Washington is Rasa Vineyards. Their 2007 Rasa QED Syrah really impressed us recently in a tasting. Only 640 cases produced. Ultra-ripe and concentrated with great length and finesse on the finish.

The 2007 QED Syrah is their inaugural wine and they’ve made quite a statement with the level of quality! The critics have agreed as well with scores of 94 in the Wine Spectator, 94 in the Wine Enthusiast, 93 in the Wine Advocate, 93 in the Rhone Report, and 91 from the International Wine Cellar.

2007 Rasa QED Syrah is destined for greatness much like Cayuse with its early reviews from the critics! $39.99 per bottle with Free Shipping on 3 bottles. As a bonus we’re offering a coupon for $36 off on just six bottles using the coupon code 36OFFQED. If you want more than six, just use coupon code 15PERCENTOFFQED and you will get the same $6 off every bottle whether you want 7, 8, 9, or more! These special coupons are only valid through Sunday, July 24.

Wine Spectator 94 Points-- Supple, complex and distinctive for its black olive and mineral character, all wrapped in a blanket of ripe blackberry fruit and nappy tannins, persisting impressively on the long, vibrant finish. Syrah, Grenache and Mourvèdre. Best from 2012 through 2017. 640 cases made. –HS

Jay Miller, Wine Advocate 93 Points-- The first release, the 2007 QED is made up of 94% Syrah, 3% Grenache, and 3% Mourvedre sourced from several top vineyards. It was aged in 25% new French oak. Dark ruby-colored, it offers up a classy nose of pepper, mineral, smoked meat, game, spice box, and blueberry. This leads to a mouth-filling, intense, super-concentrated, opulent wine that has enough underlying structure to evolve for 3-4 years. It will deliver much pleasure through 2022 if not longer. This is a very fine debut indeed!

RP 92-95+ and and Extraordinary Value Chateauneuf

2009 Domaine La Milliere Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes

Free Shipping on Six or More, PLUS $36 off Coupon on a Case!

2009 in the southern Rhone is yet another strong vintage. It may not quite eclipse the 2007 vintage, but 2009 is regarded as an excellent vintage, as it was in most of France and Europe for that matter. One of the best 2009 southern Rhones we’ve tasted so far is the Domaine la Milliere Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes.

The 2009 Domaine la Milliere Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes is a more explosive style than previous vintages of the same wine. The 2009 has a lot more concentration, structure, and will have greater longevity in the cellar.

Robert Parker mentioned in his tasting note that it is “Dense, thick and rich, it is potentially one of the few 2009 Chateauneuf du Papes that will eclipse its 2007 counterpart.” He gave a rating of 92-95+ to the 2009 Domaine la Milliere. The plus added onto the score means he believes that the wine may possibly develop into a 96 point wine in the future. His 92-95+ rating for a 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape was the highest score given to one under $40.

We’re offering the 2009 Domaine la Milliere today at 39.98 per bottle with Free Shipping on six bottles or more plus a bonus coupon of $36 off on a Case of 12 when you use the coupon code 36OFFCASE.

Robert Parker 92-95+ Points-- The stunning 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes (from 80-100+ year old vines) gives some credibility to the vignerons’ arguments that in the drought-stricken 2009 growing season, the northern Chateauneuf du Pape parcels were less impacted than those in the south. Domaine La Milliere's vineyards are all in the northern sector. The deep ruby/purple-hued 2009 possesses abundant blackberry, black cherry and cassis fruit intermixed with notions of camphor, truffles, garrigue and licorice. Dense, thick and rich, it is potentially one of the few 2009 Chateauneuf du Papes that will eclipse its 2007 counterpart. An opulent, voluptuous texture, long finish and heady combination of herbs and super-concentrated fruit make for a wine that can be drunk upon release or cellared for 12-15 years.

Stephen Tanzer’s Highest Rated Arneis

2010 Giovanni Almondo Arneis Bricco delle Ciliegie
$1 per Bottle Shipping on Six or More Bottles!

Arneis from Italy can be an extraordinary white wine when sourced from the best vineyard sites and harvested at just the right the time.

From tasting the 2010 Giovanni Almondo Arneis Bricco delle Ciliegie we could see that had to be the case for this amazing Arneis. It displayed wonderful ripeness that you normally find from Arneis, but it also showed great acidity and minerality which you only find in the best Arneis, especially those that were grown in the Roero region of the Piedmont, like this one.

Stephen Tanzer agree with us rating the 2010 Almondo Arneis with 91 points, which is his highest score ever for an Arneis!

The 2010 Giovanni Almondo Arneis Bricco delle Ciliegie is a great bottle of wine that drinks more like a $30 bottle! Our price is 19.99 on sale, with $1 per bottle shipping on six or more bottles.

Stephen Tanzer International Wine Cellar 91 Points-- Pale, bright yellow. Ripe, vibrant aromas and flavors of lemon and lime zest, apple, crushed stone, licorice, mint and wild herbs. Penetrating and dense for arneis, with strong minerality contributing to the wine’s tactile impression. Finishes chewy and long, with a repeating note of wild herbs. An unusually serious and persistent Arneis, with no loss of immediate refreshment value.

Highest Rated Spanish Red Under $15 In Recent Wine Advocate

2009 Borsao Tres Picos
$1 per Bottle Shipping on a Case

The Borsao Tres Picos Garancha has always been among the best values coming out of Spain. The 2009 may be the their best vintage released to date. Maybe the 2009 vintage has something to do with it. It seems that all of Europe made great wine in 2009.

The 2009 Borsao Tres Picos Garancha received a 92 point score in the recently released June issue of the Wine Advocate. It was the highest scored Spanish red under $15 with over 300 reviewed! Jay Miller of the Wine Advocate commented that the 2009 Tres Picos “over-delivers in a big way.”

2009 Borsao Tres Picos Garancha for just $11.99 per bottle with $1 per bottle Shipping on a Case.

Jay Miller Wine Advocate 92 Points-- The 2009 Tres Picos is a worthy successor to the string of splendid vintages which have preceded it. Heady black cherry and blackberry aromas, Asian spices, incense, and mineral notes lead to a dense, layered, rich old-vine Garnacha that over-delivers in a big way. A tasting of every vintage of Tres Picos ever produced (back to 2001) at the Bodega in January 2011 indicates that 8-10 years of pleasurable drinking is a reasonable expectation. However, this is a wine that is ready to drink on release.

International Wine Cellar 91 Points-- Glass-staining ruby. An explosive, flamboyantly perfumed bouquet exudes scents of blackberry, cherry cola, violet and cracked pepper, plus a hint of smokiness. Deeply pitched flavors of dark fruits and candied flowers remind me of syrah, but red fruit notes emerge with air, confirming that this is garnacha, not syrah. Intense, focused and impressively persistent on the finish, which echoes the sweet red and dark fruit notes and leaves a subtle smoky quality. This serious wine should be even better in a couple of years.

Our 2008 Go Figure Cabernet Sauvignon Lot 9 Is Nearly All Gone

2008 Go Figure Cabernet Sauvignon Spring Mountain Lot 9
Free Shipping on Orders of Six or More Bottles!

Our 2008 Go Figure Cabernet Lot 9 from Spring Mountain is just about gone. It seems that our Go Figure bottlings are selling faster and faster each time we receive a new one. A delivery with over 250 cases of the lot 9 Cab arrived only a few months ago and now we’re down to our last 40 cases or so.

Here’s your second chance to get some if you didn’t before. If you did purchase, here’s your chance to replenish your stock.

We’re selling it at a 60% lower price than the vineyard source. Sorry, we can’t tell you the winery but here’s a hint...

It’s comprised of Spring Mountain's finest brambly, wild herb mountain Cab and the valley floor's rich, red fruited and chocolate tannin Cabernet, this GF is yet another over-delivering showstopper from the same winemaker whose Cabs go for anywhere from $75 up to $125 and higher and have earned Parker scores of 94+ in the 2008 vintage (even higher than the 2007 scores.)

The 2008 Go Figure Cabernet Sauvignon Spring Mountain Lot 9 is truly a bargain at 29.99! We’re throwing in Free Shipping on six bottles as well.

Jon Visser Wine Buyer 4 stars-- Plenty of cassis, blackberries, chocolate on the mid-palate. Good amount of minerality, great structure, herbs, and a long finish. Tasted blind next to an $80 Napa Cab and this actually had better structure and more complexity which is not common of a $30 Cabernet!

Bargain Red From The Rhone Valley

2010 Domaine d’Andezon Cotes du Rhone
$1 per Bottle Shipping on a Case

Robert Parker recently commented about some of his Best Buys in the June issue of the Wine Advocate. One of those best buys was the 2010 Domaine d’Andezon Cotes du Rhone. He called the Andezon 2010 “one of the very best bargains in dry red wine that readers are likely to find anywhere in the world.”

The 2010 Domaine d’Andezon Cotes du Rhone is a blend of 90% Syrah and 10% Grenache. It has a deep purple, almost black, color. There are a lot of floral characteristics on the nose. On the palate a ton of dark fruits including blueberries and blackberries, and even a little raspberry. Full-bodied and well structured. There is a lot of wine here for a such a reasonable price!

The 2010 Domaine d’Andezon Cotes du Rhone is $11.97 per bottle with $1 per bottle shipping on a Case!

Robert Parker 91 Points-- The classic cuvee, which has long been selected by importer Eric Solomon, is their 2010 Domaine d’Andezon, a blend of 90% Syrah and 10% Grenache. While there are critics of Syrah grown in the southern Rhone, even the cynics agree that the old-vine Syrah from the Gard has a special character to it. This wine comes from 40+-year-old Syrah vines and 60+-year-old Grenache vines, bottled unfined and unfiltered after being aged in both tank and concrete. Dense ruby/purple, with a stunning nose of blackberry liqueur and jus de viande (beef/meat juices), its thrilling, intensely pure, full-bodied mouthfeel, good freshness, and striking floral character all combine for one of the very best bargains in dry red wine that readers are likely to find anywhere in the world. This is super and should continue to drink well for another 3-4 years.

Robert Parker's Highest Rated Conn Valley Ever!

2008 Anderson's Conn Valley Vineyards
Estate Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

The 98 point 2008 Anderson's Conn Valley Vineyards Estate Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is now in stock. This appears to be the finest Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve they have ever produced. In fact, the 98 point score from Robert Parker is the highest rating he has ever awarded the wine.

Mr. Parker’s tasting note calls the 2008 Conn Valley Reserve Cabernet “black as a moonless night” and a “remarkable wine.” With comments like that, how can you resist taking at least a bottle or two?

The only bad news is that production was cut by 40% on the 2008 because of a Spring frost. The good news for you is that we have received enough to offer you this exceptional Napa Cabernet.

Our price is $79.99 per bottle on sale, but with the short production this year, we have to impose a six bottle limit per customer.

Robert Parker 98 Points-- One of the few wineries to make a 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve that eclipsed its 2007 counterpart is Anderson’s Conn Valley. A spectacular effort that is as black as a moonless night, this full-bodied wine boasts abundant aromas of creme de cassis, camphor and subtle oak presented in a voluptuously textured, full-bodied style with terrific richness and depth. Great intensity and opulence as well as a layered mouthfeel make for a remarkable wine that should age for 20-30+ years.
